Once you have found the man you want to marry you need to find the jacket that you want to get married in, which can be just as difficult since there’s no Grindr, Tinder or Scruff for satin lapel jackets.

We suggest swiping right, sending a woof and a 'S'up' message to Brian Huynh, the creative director of Melbourne label Mndatory for a jacket that will last longer than Colton Hayes six month marriage to Jeff Leatham.

For winter we make a date with the single-breasted, wide-lapelled velvet blazer which, is part of the brand's ready to wear collection, Myornas Krig.

"This collection looks to explore the desire for connection and what it means to be alone in a digital age," Huynh says. Which doesn’t mean that you can’t wear it while you’re marrying someone else.

The collection also put Mndatory on the fashion radar, with the label scoring a nomination for the National Designer Award at this year’s Virgin Australia Melbourne Fashion Festival.

Melbourne customers can take advantage of Mndataory’s made-to-measure service to snaffle a classic double-breasted wool jacket without the bells and whistles of velvet and shiny lapels. The jacket understandably sold out from their Fata Morgana collection.
