For lawyer Mark Giunta and Michael Codey a fleeting swipe became a lifetime commitment. The couple met online, and a year after dating IRL, Michael proposed to Mark.

The couple headed to the altar in January with the endorsement of Adele. During the star and LGBTI-ally's Australian tour, Adele’s kiss-cam captured the couple, resulting in strong applause from the 90,000-strong crowd.
Even with the co-reigning queen of pop (Hello Beyonce) rooting for you, creating a same sex marriage ceremony offered challenges to the couple as they struggled to find inspiration online.
"We started with our groomsmaids walking down in pairs," Mark says. "Two of Michael's, then two of mine… two of Michael’s, two of mine… then we had our parents walk them to the start of the aisle – then we sent our parents down one set at a time… then it was our turn.
"We always wanted to walk down the aisle together… we both deserved that 'bride' moment. We somehow managed to time it perfectly so that we came down when Mariah was hitting those really high notes at the end."

"We often get ripped to shreds by our friends for dressing the same, so our wedding wasn’t going to be any different. We wore matching outfits – head to toe (with the exception of our undies – I’m more of an aussiebum guy, while Michael loves his Calvin Kleins)," says Mark.

"We had 4 groomsmaids each – our four best girlfriends," Mark.
We walked out to Kylie’s Love at First Sight (even though we actually fell in love at first swipe).
"Our florist was a gem. She did everything: our boutonnieres, the groomsmaids’ bouquets, the table settings and the overhead greenery we had at the ceremony," says Mark.
"We walked down the aisle to Endless Love by Mariah Carey & Luther Vandross," says Mark. "It was perfect. It’s a diva pop ballad that our friends expected from us, but it’s still emotional and a little bit classy… It was a real tear jerker!
"Then at the end of the ceremony we walked out to Kylie’s Love at First Sight (even though we actually fell in love at first swipe)."
"We coincidentally ended up being married on the first weekend after same sex marriage became legal, so we had the pleasure of hearing those magic words for the first time: ‘Marriage is the union of two people to the exclusion of all others’. When our celebrant read this out the crowd went wild. It was truly perfect… Everyone there will remember that moment forever," says Mark.
The only thing Michael loves more than Mark is Britney Spears, so the couple found the perfect album track, “Now That I Found You”. “It starts off slow, so we could tick the ‘slow dance’ box then it gets a little hectic dancefloor sounding, so we had all our groomsmaids run in at that point before everyone else joined in." – Mark.
