When you’re walking on sunshine why not try walking on rainbows to help Sydney’s Gay and Lesbian community.
Enduring footwear brand Hush Puppies has hooked up with the 2019 Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras as a supporting partner, creating a limited edition, unisex shoe to celebrate the international event.
Whether you’re wearing them down the aisle, or along the iconic Oxford Street parade route, the shoes make more than a fashion statement with 50 per cent of profits going towards Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras community grants program.
They also look pretty great, with enough sparkly rainbow stripes to earn the footwear the title of the event’s official shoe.
“We’re excited to be partnering with such an iconic festival that is inclusive of all kinds,” says Charlene Perera, Hush, Puppies Brand Manager.
“Our core brand value has always been, ‘Welcome to all, exclusive to none’ so we feel this partnership is a perfect fit, allowing us to bring this value to life, in a big way! More importantly, we love that our consumers will be able to wear and show their support for the LGBTQI+ community both at Mardi Gras and all year round.”
In the lead-up to Mardi Gras Hush Puppies will make a road trip from Melbourne to Sydney, stopping in Albury, Wagga Wagga and Goulburn to spread the word about style, sneakers and equality.
