In the lead-up to your wedding, looking after your skin can take a backseat to the suit, seating plan and exploring Vegan options for cousin Barry.
Paul Anderson, who founded Mankind, a grooming outpost for men in Sydney and Melbourne, knows that there's no last-minute solution to wedding pictures that can be tagged #nofilter.
"The most important treatment for any groom is the face treatment," Anderson says. "You want your skin glowing for all of those photos."
"With face treatments guys are generally looking for a deep cleanse, some retexturing of the skin – like smoothing and good hydration. This doesn’t happen for most guys in one sitting.
"If you come in on the week of your wedding and ask for a deep cleanse, expect breakouts on the big day."
Here's a guide from Anderson on how to structure the lead-up to your big day.
6 weeks before get a facial with microdermabrasion (check with your consultant that it suits your skin) or simply a facial with extractions. This will allow your skin time to react and heal.
3 weeks before book another deep cleanse facial, this time with Vitamin C. This will help eliminate blackheads that the first treatment didn't manage to extract - it also provides great nutrients for the skin.
The week of the wedding get a massage to help you relax.
Book in for an Express Face Treatment for hydration, as all the hard work has been done.
Hot tip: Don’t forget the manicure. There will be photos of the rings for sure.
