Love under the sun at Ulu Cliffhouse, Bali

3th October 2018
Honeymoons don't just take place under the stars. Look to your future in daylight by celebrating at the Ulu Cliffhouse on Bali’s Bukit Peninsula in Uluwatu.
You may have sorted out your private villa with hot and cold running butlers, but the Ulu Cliffhouse offers a change of scene to add spice to your celebrations and refresh your social media feed.
Designed by Shed London, the company behind East London's Hotbox and Dubai Mall's men’s shoe paradise Level Men, along with Bali Design Assembly, the chic day club makes the most of it’s incredible views and cliff-top location. Think Crazy Rich Asians through a minimalist beach filter and you're almost there.
Wander down the winding staircase to the ocean deck, halfway down the cliff face, where the bar can host 100 revellers and you can watch the tide go out before walking hand in hand along the beach.
Gestures of love are not enough so South American chef Diego Munōz, named by The New York Times as one of the Four Nomadic Chefs to Watch following his success at Peru's Astrid & Gaston, has created a mouth-watering Speedo-challenging menu.
Share Shrimp Chow Mien or a half kilogram of king prawns before tackling Spicy Tamarind and Tuna or a Piggie Back Pizza.
Cocktail master Albie Barratt has devised libations that will help you find your groove beneath the sun.
Check the day club’s program to see whether Saturday’s Love on the Rocks (where Carl Cox and The Presets have performed) or Sunday Cliffside Sessions are the place to find your honeymoon soundtrack.
Please note: Bali has a rich history of gay tourism but as parts of Indonesia become increasingly conservative it is best to follow the same precautions as straight travellers and avoid public displays of affection.
